He denounced that the autodefensas that operate in that region don't have the support of the federal government or the Commission for Security and Integral Development for the State of Michoacán which Alfredo Castillo Cervantes leads. The autodefensa stated that violence continues in Michoacán, despite the speech that says that everything is peaceful and that security has been restored in the state of Michoacán. On January 11, five people died and eight others were wounded after members of the Community Police of the Municipality of Aquila were ambushed in the town known as Huahua by an armed group. Castillo Cervantes declared that the recent events of violence in the state are not a part of the public security, but to local events in three municipalities located in the Tierra Caliente region, where small criminal groups are involved. Meanwhile, the governor of Michoacán, Salvador Jara Guerrero, said that thanks to the federal forces, they have managed to restore security in 100 municipalities, while 13 municipalities are still hot spots. The autodefensa of Aquila stated that given the lack of support, the only thing they ask for is to be able to talk and negotiate with the mayors of the Michoacán coast so that the security resources can be distributed in the region. "With the help of the government or without their help we will continue doing our job of clearing out the area of criminals.  The government should support those who we give to eat", he said. The Government Will Not Put Their Hands Over Us Following the arrest of the two leaders of the autodefensas in the state, such as José Manuel Mireles Valverde and Hipólito Mora Chávez, Semeí lamented about both cases and assured that they would not let the government imprison them. "We have come to an agreement, we will never let the government put their hands over us, because we know that we don't owe anything to anyone, unlike the government who owes us a lot, like the elucidation of the murders in our municipalities", he said. He stated that they will continue to the letter and with transparency so that they won't try to blame them for something that they didn't do, "We will continue fighting so that our people may be calm and at peace".
