Joe -- Congress is getting ready to leave Washington to head home -- for many of them, the focus now is on November. Even though OFA doesn't work on elections, that doesn't mean we can let the issues that matter fall to the back burner. You've worked hard to build momentum on everything from raising the minimum wage to immigration reform -- we have to keep those issues front and center. I'm asking you to do one simple, meaningful thing today: Will you make a commitment to keep the conversation going? We've had some big wins this year -- we helped millions of Americans get health coverage. We held climate change deniers accountable for their dangerous anti-science positions, and more than 5 million Americans have taken action with OFA -- on everything from student loans to equal pay. These fights aren't the easy ones -- nothing on our agenda is won overnight. But I believe we're closer today to meaningful progress on the issues we've been working on together. We won't get there unless people like you keep on going. Keep talking to your friends and neighbors about why you care about this. Keep reminding your Facebook friends that the federal minimum wage hasn't been raised in five years. Make sure people know that the President's plan to fight carbon pollution would reduce dangerous emissions 30 percent by 2030. There's a lot left to do on the issues you and I care about, and it's on us to make sure we keep the conversation going. This might seem like an easy thing to do, but it means a lot -- commit to keep the conversation going today: http://my.barackobama.com/Keep-Up-the-Conversation Thanks, Jon Jon Carson Executive Director Organizing for Action | |
