Samsung banks on super-resolution screens for Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge
Samsung Electronics is hoping that super high-resolution screens on the Galaxy Note 4 and the Note Edge will help bring back some of its mojo.The Edge’s screen, which wraps around the side of the device, sparked an explosion of comments by tech reviewers on Twitter the moment it was unveiled Wednesday at the IFA show in Berlin. Simultaneous Samsung events were also held in New York and Beijing.Samsung is once again updating its Galaxy Note smartphone-and-stylus line-up. Since its inception three years ago, the Galaxy Notes have become as important for Samsung as its Galaxy S range of smartphones.On Wednesday, Samsung expanded the range with two new models. Apple confirms September 9 event: iPhone 6 and new wearable device on the horizon
Well it's official, folks. As previously rumored, Apple today sent out invitations to select outlets for a special media event slated to take place on September 9. Word of the official announcement was first relayed by The Loop, which posted the photo of the invite below.With the tagline "Wish we could say more", the invitation certainly leaves a whole lot to the imagination. The event itself will kick off at 10 AM Pacific Time at the Flrint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino. Notably, most Apple events take place at either Apple's Cupertino campus or at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.It's widely believed that Apple will use the occasion to announce two brand new iPhone models, and according to a post yesterday from Re/Code, the event will also introduce the world to Apple's long rumored wearable device, a product some have prematurely referred to as the "iWatch."To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here Read More

For Apple, now is the time to put up or shut up
In less than a week, on September 9, Apple will hold one of its most highly anticipated product launch events ever. The company is expected to announce not one but two new iPhones, and possibly the long-rumored iWatch.Apart from the hype, which seems as intense as any in the company’s heavily promoted history, these launches will make or break Apple’s position as the most dominant, most innovative, and most profitable company in the mobile space. Nokia's navigation service Here comes to Samsung smartwatch and Galaxy
Samsung has partnered with Nokia to bring navigation service Here to its new smartwatch and Galaxy Android phones.Here is a Nokia subsidiary that provides navigation, mapping and location services comparable with Google and Apple Maps.Here will be available on Samsung’s Tizen devices including the Gear S, a curved smartwatch that was announced this week, Nokia said.On the Gear, Here will power an app called Navigator, offering turn-by-turn navigation as well as public transit routing. The app works stand-alone and map data can be stored on the device to use for offline navigation, Nokia said. Apple developing 12.9-inch iPad model for 2015 launch - Report
While much of the news surrounding Apple over the next few weeks will understandably focus on new iPhones and the rumored Apple iWatch, there are reportedly some interesting changes afoot for Apple's iPad lineup.According to a report last week from Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to release a new larger screened 12.9-inch iPad in early 2015.The new iPad will have a screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public. Apple currently produces iPads with 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch displays. The Cupertino, California-based company has been working with suppliers for at least a year to develop a new range of larger touch-screen devices, said the people. The move is interesting in light of the fact that Apple's iPad sales have been on the decline for two straight quarters. Though sales are still impressive overall, the growth Apple enjoys with the iPhone seems to have dissipated with the iPad. Now this isn't to say the iPad is a dud, but rather, may simply be a reflection of the fact that upgrade cycles are, on average, slower for tablets than they are for smartphones.
