According to North Carolina media reports, Cooper will be sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison and has agreed to allow the adoption of his two young daughters by Nancy Cooper’s sister. Learn More FIRST LOOK: Ray Ozzie's Talko cloud calling/messaging iPhone app I never did use Ray Ozzie's Lotus Notes or Groove (acquired by Microsoft) collaboration tools, mainly because the companies I worked for didn't use them, though I have interviewed the famed software designer and watched his colorful career unfold over the years. So when Ozzie's latest venture, Talko, released its free calling/messaging app for iPhones today, I decided I would give it a whirl and rope my colleague, Michael Cooney, into testing it with me. Based on preliminary analysis, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) estimates it paid $5.2 billion in fraudulent identity theft refunds in filing season 2013 while preventing an additional $24.2 billion (based on what it could detect). As a result the IRS needs to implement changes in a system that apparently leaks like a sieve and such changes could impact legitimate taxpayers by delaying refunds, extending tax season and likely adding costs to the IRS.Watchdogs at the Government Accountability Office this week issued a report that looked at the IRS identity theft problem and make a few recommendations on how to fight the massive fraud that is taking place right now.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here Read More What is Metacloud and why did Cisco buy it?
