After a new confrontation occurred on the Monday night in Jalisco, the second of the week, the State Attorney General confirmed the death of four presumed criminals. Among them was Heriberto Acevedo Cardenas, "El Gringo", Boss of a cell of Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion, and only identified now.

Heriberto Acevedo Cardenas, "El Gringo"

According to the Attorney General Luis Carlos Najera, "El Gringo" was the leader of organised crime cells in the Towns of Tlajomulco, Cocula, Zacoalco, Tapalpa and Atemajac de Brizuela.

Further to this he was the guy who bribed the Cocula Police Chief to enable the Cartel to work freely, forcing the State Attorney to take charge of security in the town since last December, he said.

At the press conference, the prosecutor said the alleged cartel leader, orchestrated the attack in which four soldiers were killed who secured a fuel farm in the Town of Guachinango in May 2014.

"El Gringo" had two current arrest warrants, for homicide and qualified theft. He had ten previous serious crimes on record, like theft of Fuel, kidnapping, and his participation in at least nine other homicides.

He was also involved in other cases(Otis: much easier to blame dead men for crimes to increase the crimes solved rate), in the death of two Police detectives, who presumably he tried to bribe the operator so he could "milk" the pipeline and steal the fuel. It was "El Gringo" that ordered his death.

The confrontation

The new confrontation that left four dead, between those of "El Gringo", occurred on the night of Monday passed, in the town of Sureno de Zocoalco de Torres, around kilometre 17, around the freeway of Guadalajara - Colima, and 125 kilometres distant from Ocotlan where the previous confrontation occurred last Thursday, that left 11 dead, among them 5 Gendarmeria and three civilians caught in the cross fire.( See BB reporter DD article on the confrontation)

According to the State Authorities, the crew of a white van, ignored a signal to stop by State Force 1, who intended to carry out a routine stop and search.

As they fled, the presumed sicarios opened fire on the Police, including fire from a 40mm grenade launcher, informed the prosecutor. The gunmen rolled the vehicle causing it to ignite, an officer was shot in the right thigh and had two ricochet injuries to his calf, but he is reported as out of danger.

At the scene of the confrontation, the Police found five 40 mm grenades, a .50 cal Barrett sniper rifle, three assault rifles and two pistols. The Police also found 500 cartridges in a radius of 400 metres from where the altercation occurred.

At first it was reported that only three people died, but the Prosecutor confirmed today that it was four dead, their bodies were taken to the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences, for corroboration of the other identities. The identity of "El Gringo" was established by fingerprinting.

The new confrontation occurred five days after the other confrontation between the Federal Police and presumed operators of the CJNG, in the Town of Ocotlan, when 11 people were killed, among them 5 Gendarmeria, 3 Sicarios, and three Civilians, among them a woman and a minor.

According to the official report, this confrontation left 29 vehicles damaged by gun fire, 7 of those from the Gendarmeria, three vehicles of the hit men, three motorcycles the rest civilian cars. After the confrontation, they found 10 pistols, 18 rifles, two fragmentation grenades, and two 40mm grenades in 31 farms.

Luis Manuel Kadour Ponce "El Visquetin"
The Group for Coordination communicated that the State Force for Tamaulipas achieved the capture of Luis Manuel Kadour Ponce, Plaza Boss for a criminal group that operates in Tampico and Madero and is know by the following nicknames: "El Visquetin" "El K 23", "El R3" and "El Fresa 2".

At the moment of his detention in the disco "scent club" in Tampico, he was caught with a 40mm grenade launcher and 2 cell phones.

In an operation carried out on Sunday 22nd of March, Kadour Ponce tried to bribe the Police with 400K pesos, to let him go free, before which, he had threatened the Police saying he was  the Boss of Plaza in the South Zone.

After receiving a complaint from a citizen, in which it was reported that aforementioned Kadour Ponce was accompanied by several subjects, the state Police arrived and detected a vehicle illegally parked with several men on board, who fled and threw the grenade launcher onto the pavement. (Otis: lucky there wasn't a negligent discharge.)

The Police called for the support of the Army, and after taking pictures and his details it was confirmed that he was Kadour Ponce.
