"El Mayo Gordito" launches an amparo for lack of medical attention

For the third occasion since he was incarcerated in the Maximum Security Prison of Puente Grande in Jalisco, the presumed Narco-trafficker Ismael Zambada Imperial, son of the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada Garcia, made a demand for guarantees of medical attention.

A letter signed by Zambada Imperial was introduced in the Federal Court of Jalisco and turned over to the Fourth District Court of Amparo in Criminal Matters of Zapopan, where the record was filed case no 399/2015.

"El Mayo Gordito" was detained on 12th of November 2014 by the Marines, the Director of Cefereso No. 2 "Occidente", has refused to provide medical care and medicines, without revealing what condition he suffers from.





On two previous occasions, Ismael Zambada Imperial has solicited Judges about fundamental human rights for the same causes. One of those before the Sixth Judge specialising in Material (1740/2014) and the other with the Second Judge of the same branch (1821/2014), both cases were dismissed as the authorities denied the charges.

The Fourth District Court of Amparo in Penal Matters of Jalisco, ordered the Court Clerk to attend Cefereso No 2, to notify the inmate that the lawsuit had been filed on his behalf, and to ratify with the inmate the contents to decide on the Amparos admission.

If the request is ratified, the complainant will be asked to detail the lack of medical care, and a date will follow for the constitutional hearing.

Chiapas: PRI activists behead son of Green Party Leader

Six PRI activists were arrested by the Attorney General of the State (PGJE) as suspected of beheading the son of the local leader of Partido Verde, who was found dead last Monday.

On Monday 23 morning, residents of the municipality of Altamirano reported the discovery of a headless body in the road that stretches from Morelia-La Laguna.  Immediately agents of the Municipal Police and State Preventive Police (PEP) arrived on the scene.

When the agents of the Public Ministry arrived, the head was found to one side of the body.

Witnesses reported that the individual who was identified as Amilcar Guzmán Jiménez, 40 years old, who had been seen drinking alcoholic beverages on Sunday afternoon.

After the murder of Amilcar Guzmán Jiménez, the Attorney General of the State initiated investigations and  disclosed the names of the murderers.

The investigations disclosed that days before his assassination, Amilcar Guzmán Jiménez, who was a member of PVEM and son of a local leader of the party, was threatened with death by members of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).

This led to the arrest of Ranulf Pérez Méndez, Moisés Pérez Méndez, Jorge Braulio Pérez Hernández, Ronais Hernández Guzmán, Rosember Méndez Pérez Pérez and Fidelino Pérez, all local PRI activists, who were presented as the main suspects in the murder/decapitation.

Authorities have not provided an official statement, but it is presumed that the motive for the murder could be a rivalry between political parties in the municipality of Altamirano.

The Lawyer of Dr Jose Manuel Mireles, the ex leader of the auto defensas who was detained in Michoacan this June passed, said that the Legal Records of his client, will be available on an internet page.

"There are more than 2000 pages in the records, and we want that all Mexicans they can see how justice functions", said the Lawyer in an interview with Ciro Gomez Leyva for the Formula Group.

He said what they are looking for is, " to make all the world enter this case, the process against the Doctor, how this procedure functions, that with the knowledge of the people of how our paper justice system works, there will be sympathy for Doctor Mireles.



In June of 2014, Federal Forces  in the town of Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan, detained Dr Mireles, one of the leaders of the auto defensas in Tepalcatepec, for having arms for exclusive use by the armed forces.

His Lawyer said that he is sure that the crime of having arms for exclusive use by the armed services, was fabricated against Dr Mireles, and that to make public the records will serve the people to realise that Federal Gun Law for a criminal maybe used against a person carrying a weapon for self defence.
