Insurers Seek Double-Digit Obamacare Hikes Politico reports health insurers are asking federal and state bureaucrats to OK double-digit rate hikes for hundreds of Obamacare plans next year, increases driven by skyrocketing drug costs and superior data on how healthy (or sick) their customers are. With some seeking hikes of more than 20 percent, the Obama administration was quick to quell fears of spiraling costs, insisting they were merely "victims of [their] own transparency," and that rates would surely be revised down before being finalized in October.
