Newsletter: Even though Brazil's economy grew only 0.1% in 2014, consumption of hydrous ethanol grew 20.1%, and of anhydrous ethanol grew 14.5%. During the first 5 months of 2015, consumption of hydrous ethanol grew 34.9% and of total ethanol 17.7%, compared with the same period last year. The increased use of ethanol can be attributed to a recovery in its competitiveness at the consumer level, which resulted from the partial reinstatement of the specific tax on gasoline (CIDE), and changes in VAT levies in a few states favoring the use of ethanol. The economic use of all residues, for cogeneration and other applications, is one of the major solutions within reach. Join us and participate in the discussions.
